Is There Really Such a Thing as an Expunged Record?


When I went to apply for a job with the post office, we were told to list any past arrests or convictions because no criminal record is ever really expunged and they'll find it. Is that true?

It is likely that the record and paper trail exists. That notwithstanding, being up front with the truth is always the best and most ethical policy, even when it feels hard to do so. Hiding the truth only adds an offense on top of one that already exists.
