Is it Better to Quit or Resign?

I just found a great new job and I want to do the right thing and give my two-weeks' notice, but the last person who did that was publicly villified by our manager. Should I just keep quiet until I'm scheduled to start my new job or should I just do the right thing regardless of the consequences?

Don't abandon doing the right thing because someone will criticize you. You will be the bigger person and the company will look like a jerk.

Great question - the tough reality is that despite the challenging atmosphere, you need to do the right thing and give your employer two weeks notice. By doing so, you will be thought of as a true professional and one with strong conviction and empathy.
