Is it right to report an employee who has come to work with obvious signs - coughing and sneezing - that he has a cold or the flu?

Who are you reporting them to?

Some organizations have policies related to this type of reporting - health care organizations come to mind. In fact, I worked at such an organization that developed and communicated a policy to 1) encourage employees with these types of symptoms to *not* come to work and 2) encourage other employees to let their manager and/or HR know if someone was at work with these types of symptoms.

My advice would be to check with your manager/HR department to see if your company has a policy related to this and, if not, suggest that they may wish to develop a policy and/or guidelines.
