Internships and Entry Level Employment in Phoenix

Phoenix is the fifth largest city in the United States with a population of 1,521,986. As the fifth largest city, Phoenix offers a variety of internship and entry level job opportunities for recent graduates in finance, engineering, journalism, and accounting. Phoenix has been on a rise since its incorporation on February 25, 1881; now the city is the most populous city in the United States.

The beginning of Phoenix's economical change start in 1880s as the railroad was implemented into its system. The railroads helped Phoenix begin trades between the east and west cities surrounding the capitol. Before the railroad, Phoenix used a lot of carriages to handle many goods between its vendors than capitalist joined the opportunity to ship through the trains. Revenue grew during the following years leading the capital city to organize a Chamber of Commerce on November 4, 1888. Now, business owners could create more ways to drive business, thus, creating opportunities for growth.

Theodore Roosevelt signed the National Reclamation Act in 1902 to help secure the dams for the city's water and power supply. Known as the Salt Water Project, the citizens worked together to organize the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association on February 7, 1903. On February 14, 1912, Phoenix was announced the capital of Arizona by President William Howard Taft. The city's residents continued to utilize its government by shifting from a mayor-council to a council-manager in 1913; becoming the first capital to create a government like it in the United States.

Ever since the announcement, Phoenix's economy has expanded within and around the surrounding cities. Recent college graduates and students can find many internships and entry level positions in information technology, marketing, sales, engineering, computer science, and finance due to Phoenix's technology centers. Three Fortune 1000 companies are located in downtown Phoenix: Apollo Group (operators of the University of Phoenix), Avent Inc., and Phelps Dodge Corporation (a major mining company). Graduates interested in finance and banking can find a home at American Express' headquarters located in downtown Phoenix as well.

Well, all business and no play can make any graduate or student dull. Phoenix provides excellent entertainment for recent college graduates and students interested in living in the city. If you are a sport fanatic, you can visit the US Airway Center to watch the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Phoenix Mercury (WNBA), Arizona Rattlers (Arena Football League), and the Phoenix RoadRunners (East Coast Hockey League). The children will find the arena to be a sanctuary for fun nights once each season starts. Even in the great summer weather, baseball lovers can watch the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
